Bio

Jacob Coker is a quarterback for the University of Alabama Crimson Tide of the Southeastern Conference. Coker transferred to Alabama after three seasons at Florida State University. Upon signing Coker, Alabama head coach Nick Saban said in a press release: "We think a lot of Jake and we are excited to have him join our team. He is not only an outstanding football player, but he is also a fine young man who we feel will be a great fit with our program at Alabama."

High School

The Mobile, Alabama native was a three-star prospect according to Rivals and Scout coming out of St. Paul's Episcopal in 2010, the same high school as former Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron. Coker ran a wing-T offense until his senior season where he switched to a pro-style offense where he threw for 1,508 yards and 16 touchdowns. He led St. Paul’s to the semifinals of the Alabama state playoffs. Coker also shined on the basketball court in high school, averaging 17.4 points per game as a junior.

College

He redshirted at Florida State in 2011 and saw limited action in 2012 as a back-up to EJ Manuel. His first career touchdown pass was 19-yard completion to Kelvin Benjamin against Savannah State. In 2013 Coker was a member of the Seminoles’ national championship team. He played in seven games while backing up Heisman winner Jameis Winston. Coker completed 18-36 passes for 250 yards on the season. The mobile quarterback also had a rushing touchdown.
