Jake Rudock is a quarterback for the University of Iowa Hawkeyes of the Big Ten Conference. After not playing at all his first two seasons, Rudock emerged as a more than capable starting quarterback for the Hawkeyes in 2013.
Rudock attended St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Weston, Florida. As a senior in 2010 he led St. Thomas Aquinas to the national championship and a 15-0 record. During his prep career Rudock totaled more than 5,000 yards and threw 73 touchdown passes. He won three state championships and two national championships.
During his senior campaign Rudock threw 36 touchdown passes and threw for more than 2,800 yards. He also starred on the baseball diamond in high school, Rudock earned a spot on the All-District First Team as a senior.
Rudock redshirted at Iowa in 2011 and did not play in 2012. In 2013 he started all 13 games for the Hawkeyes and threw for 2,383 yards and 18 touchdowns. He also ran for five touchdowns but was picked off 13 times. Rudock finished fifth in the Big Ten in total offense and sixth in passing yards per game with an average of just over 190 yards passing per contest. His first collegiate touchdown pass came in his first career collegiate game against Northern Illinois. Rudock led Iowa to an Outback Bowl appearance against LSU where they lost 21-14.
