Bio

Jason Pierre-Paul is entering his fifth season with the New York Giants following a disappointing 2013, which saw him battle a herniated disc in his back. Pierre-Paul , a monstrous defensive end, is the fiercest pass-rusher for Big Blue despite seeing his production decline over the past two seasons. He has earned two Pro Bowl nods, with one All-Pro selection coming in 2011.

Early Years & College

Pierre-Paul, the son of Haitian immigrants, was born in Deerfield Beach, Fla., on Jan. 1, 1989. He attended Deerfield Beach High where he was originally a basketball star, hiding his involvement in football from his parents until his junior year. From there, Pierre-Paul went to College of the Canyons (California) to hone his football skills, amassing 49 tackles and 14 sacks as a junior college prospect, before heading to Fort Scott Community College. Then, he transferred to the University of South Florida where he racked up 6.5 sacks and was named first-team All-America as a junior.

New York Giants

The Giants selected Pierre-Paul in the first round of the 2010 NFL draft (15th overall). He played in 16 games in his rookie season, making his debut on Sept. 12, 2010, and finished with 4.5 sacks and 30 tackles. In 2011, after injuries to starters Osi Umenyiora and Justin Tuck, he saw his snaps increase dramatically. Pierre-Paul started 12 games and led the Giants with 16.5 sacks, while making his first Pro Bowl, and helped lead the Giants over the Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI. In four seasons in New York, Pierre-Paul has recorded 209 tackles, 29.5 sacks and two interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown.
