During the 2009 NFL Draft, The New England Patriots selected Julian Edelman in the seventh round and the wide receiver has certainly proven to be a wise investment. This season alone he has already accumulated 319 yards and caught two touchdown passes against the Buffalo Bills.

The 27-year-old Edelman played college ball at Kent State. He’s 5’10” and weighs just under 200 pounds. Last season, he made an impact in a big way by scoring a 72-yard touchdown, when the Patriots played the Chiefs.

With many players sitting on the sidelines due to injury this season – especiallyRob Gronkowski and Danny Amendola – Edelman has definitely stepped up his game and left an impression on football fans. Within the first two weeks, he was leading in receptions (20).

There are two things you have to do in order to secure your position on an NFL team; you have to play well and you have to be socially relevant. He has certainly got it handled on the field. Then, if you search his name on Google, you’ll quickly see that Edelman pulls in 2,880,000 results. He is the topic of numerous articles, being discussed as a top fantasy football player and gathering quite the following on Instagram (@edelman11). Julian Edelman is doing everything right.
