Bio

Mark Ingram is a running back for the New Orleans Saints. Before being drafted in the first-round, Ingram won the Heisman Trophy in 2009.

EARLY YEARS

Ingram was born on December 21, 1989 in Hackensack, N.J. His father is former NFL wide receiver Mark Ingram, Sr. 

Ingram Jr. attended Grand Blanc Community High school in Grand Blanc, Michigan before he transferred to Flint Southwest Academy in Flint, Michigan for his senior season.

In his final two seasons, Ingram rushed for 2,546 yards and 38 TDs, while also recording 84 tackles and eight interceptions as a senior on defense. According to Rivals.com, Ingram was a four-star athlete due to his ability to play multiple positions.

UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA

As a back-up, Ingram had an Alabama freshman record of 12 rushing TDs in his first season, earning 2008 SEC All-Freshman Team honors.

Ingram finished his three-year career with the Crimson Tide with 3,324 rushing yards and 42 TDs, including his sophomore season when he won the 2009 Heisman Trophy with 1,687 yards and 17 TDs.

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS

He was selected with the 28th pick in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints.

He scored his the first TD of his career against the Houston Texans on a 13-yard run on September 25, 2011.

In his three years in the NFL, Ingram has made 11 starts and rushed for 1,462 yards and 11 TDs.
