DE MICHAEL SAM, MISSOURI

Sam has been one of the best defensive linemen in the country, leading the NCAA with nine sacks along with 13 tackles for loss. If he continues playing the way he is, Sam will be the SEC Defensive Player of the Year.

DE CHRIS SMITH, ARKANSAS

Smith has also been great on the defensive line with six sacks and eight tackles for loss. Arkansas may be struggling, but Smith still is getting his numbers.

DT KELCY QUARLES, SOUTH CAROLINA

Quarles has been overshadowed on his team thanks to Jadeveon Clowney. However, he has five sacks and seven tackles for loss.

DT EGO FERGUSON, LSU

Ferguson may not have the stats of the others, but he's constantly seeing double teams, allowing others to make plays.

Honorable Mentions: DE Ray Drew, Georgia; DE Trey Flowers, Arkansas.
