Patrick Mclain joins Blues from Chivas USA

The LA Blues announced today that goalkeeper Patrick Mclain from Chivas USA will join the Blues on loan through the  month of May, with an option for extension through June.  Mclain was available yesterday for the Blues 1-0 victory over Orlando City.

McLain, 24, is in his second year as a professional.  Originally from Eau Claire, Wisconsin, he joined Chivas USA in 2012. The goalkeeper earned second All-Big West second team spot his junior year at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (2010) after leading all conference goalkeepers with a program-record .835 save percentage and ranking second with 5.46 saves per match, third with five shutouts and fourth with 71 saves.  McLain also finished second with five shutouts and 73 saves and third with a 1.06 goals-against average.  McLain didn’t appear in a MLS game for Chivas USA in 2012.

The LA Blues are currently at the top of the USL PRO table with 6 points. They are back in action on Sunday, April 14 at 6 p.m. at Sun Devil Soccer Stadium to take on Phoenix FC.
