Peyton Hills May Start After Jacobs' Setback
By Allen Kim
The New York Giants carousel at running back continues with Brandon Jacobs questionable to start for the team when they suit up against the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football.
Jacobs suffered a Grade 1 strain in his hamstring during their Week 6 matchup against the Chicago Bears, and while he was able to practice on Thursday and Friday on a limited basis, he missed practice yesterday with what Paul Schwartz of the New York Post calls a "setback."
Jacobs, who enjoyed a vintage performance against the Bears, ran hard for 106 yards and two touchdowns last week. He fought hard, doing a lot of his damage after contact.
Jacobs' injury paves the way for the recently signed Peyton Hillis to take on a major role in the backfield. It's tough to say what Hillis brings to the table since he hasn't seen any action since the Tampa Bay Buccaneers cut him before the start of the season.
The Giants' bye can't come soon enough. They're expected to get Andre Brown back, and David Wilson could return shortly after.
