Fun fact: the leading cause of fantasy football analyst injuries this offseason was “carpal tunnel from writing ‘Daryl Richardson or Isaiah Pead?’ articles." It looks like that injury might have seen its last day, however, as Jeff Fisher finally came out and said that Richardson will take the first snap against Arizona. It doesn’t really matter since Pead is suspended for the first week of the season, but Fisher’s public backing of Richardson should speak volumes for fantasy owners.
All of this news has lead to Richardson’s ADP jumping up a few rounds from a month ago, but is he worth it? I’m still a tad dubious he survives the entire season as the starter with Pead and Zac Stacy waiting in the wings, but Richardson has looked much better than Pead and Stacy in camp and will have a chance to run away with the job with a big first week. Reaching above the fifth or sixth round is a little too rich for my blood, but there are only 32 starting running backs, so I wouldn’t mind taking him in the Ahmad Bradshaw-DeAngelo Williams range.
Drafted Richardson in the 13th round, leaning towards starting him and benching BenJarvis Green Ellis.
