The Oakland Raiders have signed fullback Marcel Reece to a three-year contract extension. Reece, 28, has just started sixth year with the Raiders and has become an integral part of Oakland's offense. Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network says that the contract is worth $13 million over three years with $7.2 million guaranteed.

Considered one of the most, if not the most, versatile fullbacks in the league, Reece has appeared in 47 games, running for 505 yards and averaging 4.8 yards per carry. He has also had 107 receptions for 1,159 yards, averaging 10.8 yards per catch. In 2012, he rushed for 271 yards and caught the ball for 496 yards. He also had one touchdown. His performance earned him a Pro Bowl selection.

He was invaluable last year stepping in for injured running back Darren McFadden. Last season, Reece's 52 receptions were second on the Raiders, and his 9.5 yards per catch ranked among the best for backs in the league.
