Raiders Sign Return Man Cribbs

The Oakland Raiders have added kick returner and wide receiver Josh Cribbs to their roster, Oakland GM Reggie McKenzie confirmed today. Cribbs spent the last eight seasons with the Cleveland Browns.
Cribbs was selected for the Pro Bowl three times—2007, 2009 and 2012. Last season he played in 16 games and had two starts at wide receiver. During that time, he totaled 43 kickoff returns for 1,178 yards. He also returned 38 punts for 457 yards, and recorded seven receptions for 63 yards.
Cribbs has totaled 12,169 career kick- and punt-return yards, making him the sixth player in NFL history to reach the 12,000-yard mark. His 10,015 career kickoff-return yards are the fifth-most in NFL history and his 11 total return touchdowns also rank fifth in the NFL. He has returned 195 career punts for 2,154 yards and three touchdowns.
Cribbs logged a career-high 1,809 kickoff-return yards in 2007, and returned a career-best three kickoffs for touchdowns in 2009.
It’s expected that Cribbs, who is coming off of knee surgery, will compete with wide receiver Jacoby Ford for kick off return duties. Ford was placed on injured reserve last season due to foot surgery, but is expected to be ready for training camp.
