Here’s the fourth-best non-conference schedule in the Big 12: home against a FCS team, home against a regressing Big Ten team that was 4-8 last season, on the road against a non-BCS team it played twice last season. Ladies and gentlemen, Iowa State! The Cyclones entertain Northern Iowa to open, which is technically a rivalry, and then plays host to Iowa, which allegedly has an offense. Then is a tricky Thursday night road game at Tulsa. Likely the Conference USA favorite, the Golden Hurricane figure to boast a pretty good offense, but a shaky defense. The two are familiar with one another, though. They split games last season, with Iowa State winning the season opener and Tulsa winning the bowl game.
