The Wildcats have two sneaky tasks. North Dakota State is a very good FCS team and holds the last two national championships. The Bison were 14-1 last season with the nation’s best defense and a pretty good offense. They have a ton of talent coming back and a lot of time to prepare for a reloading Kansas State. Then comes Louisiana-Lafayette, which will be a popular pick for an upset with so many talented recruits and transfers with experience. The Rajin’ Cajuns also play in the Sun Belt, which has a reputation for pulling off the wacky. The final non-conference game is against UMass, hardly a threat and certainly a break after that start.
