Roddy White To Miss The First Game Of His Career
By Allen Kim
Atlanta Falcons WR Roddy White has been an ironman throughout his career, but his streak of 133 consecutive games played is going to be broken this weekend when the Falcons face the division-rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This will mark the first game that White has missed throughout his nine-year career.
White has been battling a high-ankle sprain that has hobbled him since the preseason, and it appears that even the extra week to rest on bye wasn’t enough for him to get back into shape. He’s been used sparingly throughout the season, serving mainly as a decoy on offense. However, the team needs him to get back to full strength with Julio Jones missing the rest of the season on injured reserve.
Joining White on the sidelines will be RB Steven Jackson, who has been out of action since Week 2 with a lingering hamstring injury, and LT Sam Baker. The team can only hope that another week of rest will be enough for him to get back up to speed.
Matt Ryan is in for a tough matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. While the team is winless, the Buccaneers are far more talented than their record indicates.
