Bio

Rueben Randle is entering his third season with the New York Giants following an up-and-down 2013 campaign. Randle, a tall, physical wide receiver (6-foot-2, 208 lbs.) showed great promise, catching 41 balls for 611 yards and six touchdowns, but also looked confused running specific routes. The starting job is his to lose in training camp after the Giants parted ways with veteran receiver Hakeem Nicks.

Early Years & College

Randle was born in Bastrop, La., on May 7, 1991. He attended Bastrop High where he played wide receiver and quarterback, throwing for 2,461 yards and 20 touchdowns as a senior. He was heavily recruited out of high school, rated as the top receiver prospect in the country and ninth-best overall. After graduating, Randle went to Louisiana State University (LSU) where he torched the SEC in three college seasons. Known as a deep threat, Randle averaged 17.3 yards per catch his junior year, with 53 receptions for 917 yards. Randle skipped his senior year after leading LSU to an SEC title in 2011.

New York Giants

Randle was selected by the Giants in the second round of the 2012 NFL draft (63rd overall), slightly lower than many experts had him pegged. Randle has been a work in progress in New York, fighting for snaps behind veterans, and failing to get on the same page with Eli Manning. He made just 19 catches for 298 yards in his rookie season despite playing in all 16 games. In two seasons in the league, Randle has 60 receptions for 909 yards and nine touchdowns. He is also a reliable and capable punt return man.
