Serie A Preview: Napoli out to continue perfect start, Inter face Juventus
By Football News
Napoli will look to in-form midfielder Marek Hamsik for inspiration when they welcome Atalanta in Serie A on Saturday.
The Slovakia international midfielder, who scored 11 goals in 37 league starts last season, has netted a double in each of the first two games of the campaign, against Chievo and Bologna.
His goals have helped Napoli to top spot in the embryonic table but four other sides have kicked off the season with back-to-back victories.
Inter and Juventus are among those, but something will have to give when they face at San Siro in the opening game of the weekend.
The hosts' are yet to concede a league goal this term but will face a stern examination from the defending champions, who have put at least one past their rivals in every match since a goalless draw in 2010.
Roma and Fiorentina, both boasting 100 per cent records, take on Parma and Cagliari respectively.
Parma will be aiming to spoil Roma's clean sheet record, while Cagliari will hope to bounce back from their 3-1 loss to Milan last time out.
Milan suffered a surprise opening-day loss to newly promoted Hellas Verona before beating Cagliari, and they have also since qualified for the UEFA Champions League.
They travel to Torino on Saturday, having not lost against them since 2001.
There are still three teams who are yet to register a point, and Catania, Genoa and Sassuolo will all hope to put their poor starts behind them.
Catania take on Livorno, while Sassuolo face an away match at Hellas Verona, and Genoa take on Sampdoria.
Chievo and Bologna will also hope to taste victory for the first time in the new season when they face Lazio and Udinese respectively on Sunday.
