JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA - NOVEMBER 19: The teams line up for the anthems during the International friendly match between South Africa and Spain at Soccer City Stadium on November 19, 2013 in Johannesburg, South Africa

South Africa coach Gordon Igesund has named his 23-man squad to play five time World champions Brazil at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa, on March 5th, kickoff at 19:00 CAT.

This will be a second high friendly match for Bafana Bafana in five months after playing another powerhouse Spain in November 2013 where they went against all odds and won 1-0 at the same venue where they will host the South Americans.

The surprising selection was the inclusion of Ajax Amsterdam attacking midfielder Thulani Serero, who hasn’t been in good terms with his national team coach after withdrawing from the squad last year September in favour of playing in the UEFA Champions League with his club.

The squad has a total of ten players who are European-based while the other thirteen plays their trade in South Africa.
