After going undrafted out of Ole Miss, Green-Ellis struggled at first to catch on with a team. He was, however, given a chance by the New England Patriots. He did not see any action until Week Six of his rookie year. Green-Ellis used that opportunity to become one of the most consistent running backs in the NFL.
Green-Ellis started his career by setting a NFL record, going 589 carries to start his career without fumbling the football. He used this consistent approach to gain 3,158 yards and 35 touchdowns during his career so far.

They both fall on years where other players just happen to be a little better. In the case of Austin it was very close between him and Grimes, but Austin's inability to stay healthy helped Grimes. In the case of Romo, he just fell into a loaded class of undrafted free agents in 03. Gates is arguably one of the best tight ends to play the game when it comes to his stats. Both guys very good hauls for the Cowboys, just not good enough to be on the list.
Tony Romo? Miles Austin?
