Vontaze Burfict's story was well-documented in 2012. He went from a possible late first round pick to an undrafted free agent due to horrible workouts and shaky tape. But Burfict did not take this as his fate.
Burfict went on to start 14 games and play in all 16 for the Cincinnati Bengals, piling up 127 total tackles. These 127 tackles landed Burfict at 15th in the NFL in tackles and proved that draft stock is not always fact.

They both fall on years where other players just happen to be a little better. In the case of Austin it was very close between him and Grimes, but Austin's inability to stay healthy helped Grimes. In the case of Romo, he just fell into a loaded class of undrafted free agents in 03. Gates is arguably one of the best tight ends to play the game when it comes to his stats. Both guys very good hauls for the Cowboys, just not good enough to be on the list.
Tony Romo? Miles Austin?
