I think the Gus Malzahn hire was an inspired move. If there was ever a team that needed an offensive guru it’s Auburn, who averaged 10.1 points in SEC games. Even Alabama and its stout defense is not winning many games averaging just a touchdown and field goal.
Malzahn will have Kiehl Frazier back at quarterback, but he might turn to Nick Marshall, a junior college transfer who can run and pass. Sound familiar? He also recruited quality receivers in Tony Stevens and Dominic Walker.
But Malzahn didn’t just stack up on offensive weapons. Auburn made a couple major coups in acquiring Carl Lawson and Elijah Daniels, both defensive ends, and defensive tackle Montravius Adams.
Still, it figures to be a long road back for the Tigers.
Last season was just sad to watch. I think that the SEC can only handle two Tigers, Mizzou stole the mojo.
