What should your team do?
You be the G.M for your respective team. How would you address your team's current needs through this year's draft?

If I'm the GM, I'd fire our coach :-)
Since I can't do that, I'd either look at Eben Britton at #22 (if available), or look to move down a few spots, grab another pick or two, and go after Phil Loadholt. Basically I think the Vikes need to address the line first, then I think they go after a WR, and a CB.

Britton is definitely a solid possibility. Childress flew down to Gainesville earlier this week to visit with Percy Harvin, so that could make things interesting.

Carolina Panthers.
I've never been totally sold on Jake Delhomme. He's sort of gotten to be like Rex Grossman in that you sometimes don't know which Jake is going to show up, especially in the last couple of seasons. But we don't even have a pick in the first round, so this probably can't be addressed in the draft ![]() I'd say we need something more on defense. We ranked 16th and lower in most defensive categories, except for sacks (#9 yes!). I'd try to get another quality pass rusher to compliment Julius Peppers so maybe he'll want to stay, or good linebacker to help stop the run. ^JR^ |

The Vikes....well I personally think they had a solid first day through 2 rounds.
I was shocked...amazed in fact... that pot smokin' Percy was drafted by Klink. Oher was on the board. I fully expected them to go with the character-first safe pick. That guy has an amazing life story and I didn't think the Vikes could possibly pass him up. But they went with a playmaker, and still managed to snag "THE LOAD" Loadholt in the second round, which made my day. I was also happy to see the Pack pass on Crabtree in order to draft Bj Raji, because AllDay will make him look like a rookie for years to come. If I was the GM...I think I would have gone the same route as the Vikes braintrust followed. Impact playmaker in the first, shore up the OL in the second. Now tomorrow they need some tacklers for the secondary and special teams. Look, we missed out in FA. We had shots. We could have Cutler throwing to TJ WhosyaMomma and Anquan Boldin and Berrian while the Purple Jesus ran wild. But we don't...so... It's on Bevell to use AD, Chester, and Percy in innovative ways in 2009. Enough of the vanilla playbook for Tarvaris. Whether it is he or Sage running this team in the coming season, they need to get creative for a change and make use of the plethora of weapons we have on offense. Change things up, keep defenses on their toes. If they continue to run a 1-back set, rush on first and 2nd down and throw a retarded ankle pass on 3rd and 10, 5 yards short, we will falter. The rest of the NFC North has made strides. Stafford, Cutler, and Rodgers are 3 QB's that will make an impact in this division for years to come. We lack the franchise QB at this point, but have a solid defense and a gifted offense, as long as we figure out how to use it..... |

Find a better O coordinator than Jimmy Raye.
