Playoff Sound-off

The votes are in and most everyone agrees -- the BCS still sucks.

Still, there is no consensus for an alternative plan that will keep both the NCAA and fans happy. Have an idea? Lay it out for us, in detail, and maybe the NCAA will listen (ok, doubt it, but at least the fans will)

Take the conference champion from each of the BCS conferences... They get automatic bids to a tournament. Then the rest of Divison I conferences get to battle it out for a set number of bids... 10 teams. Whittle it down... the final four games get to play in the traditional bowls and play in the national title game.
The rest of the bowls are there like the NIT....

I am all for a playoff and have seen some great ideas. It will never happen though. I think if there had been a playoff system we wouldn't have had to sit through those 2 years with the Buckeyes being way over matched in the championship game.

Until college football realizes that this "should" be about the student athletes, we will never see a playoff system. The conferences see waaay too much $$ in the BCS via sponsors, and that's the bottom line...$$

Maybe the recession will actually help college ball; if the sponsorships start drying up, and we get rid of the Haynes underwear bowl and such, we can start trying to put together something all fans will enjoy.

The Coaches want a Playoff System.. The Players want a Playoff System... The Fans want a Playoff System.. Congress wants a Playoff System... The President wants a Playoff System... But the BCS doesn't? So we don't have a Playoff System!!.

Only in America Folks... I can't believe we have a Black President before we have a College Football Playoff System....

Think about that.. A Brother was elected President... Before we were able to put together a College Football Playoff System that made sense for everyone involved.. If as a Nation we can get something like that accomplished... Surely someone in this Great Nation can put together a playoff system.. That the BCS will accept!!!!
