AUBURN, Alabama (Ticker) -- Auburn cornerback Aairon Savage will
miss the entire upcoming season after undergoing successful
surgery on his right knee.

The operation was performed Wednesday by renowned orthopedic
surgeon Dr. James Andrews.

Savage, who suffered the injury during Monday's practice, was
slated to start at cornerback this season for the 11th-ranked
Tigers.

Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville did not disclose the nature of
Savage's injury, but the Albany Herald - a newspaper in Georgia
- reported that the junior has a torn ACL, a torn MCL and a
dislocated kneecap.

The 5-11 Savage appeared in seven games at safety as a sophomore
last season, recording 26 tackles.
