Curtis Lofton declares for NFL draft

editor1  |Jan 14,2008

NORMAN, Oklahoma (Ticker) -- All-American linebacker Curtis
Lofton is leaving Oklahoma for the NFL draft.

The junior announced his decision Monday.

"Curtis made a lot of big plays during his time here," Sooners
head coach Bob Stoops said. "We wish him all the best in the
NFL."

Lofton revealed he had made his decision on Sunday.

"I'll definitely miss my coaches and teammates," he said. "I
came in with my class three years ago, and those guys are like
brothers to me. And I'll miss playing in front of those 85,000
fans."

Lofton led the Sooners in tackles this past season with 157. He
set a school record with nine double-digit tackle games,
including a career-high 18 in a 41-31 win over Missouri on
October 13.
