ATHENS, Georgia (Ticker) -- The hits just keep coming to the
University of Georgia football program.
Sophomore starting left tackle Trinton Sturdivant went down with
a knee injury during the Bulldogs' first preseason scrimmage on
Monday.
Georgia coach Mark Richt said he is not sure of the extent of
the injury to the 6-5, 293-pound Sturdivant, who started all 13
games last season.
"It swelled up pretty good, and we're taking the pictures so
we'll see," Richt said. "It's just sad to see a guy get hurt."
The Bulldogs, the preseason No. 1 team in the USA Today coaches'
poll, have already dealt with their share of obstacles well in
advance of their season opener against Georgia Southern on
August 30.
Six Georgia players have been either suspended or dismissed from
the team during the offseason. Richt then revealed on Friday
that sophomore running back Knowshon Moreno has been dealing
with a lingering left shoulder injury.
