Georgia suspends DE Lemon

ATHENS, Georgia (Ticker) -- Georgia defensive end Michael Lemon
has been suspended indefinitely following his felony arrest, the
school announced Thursday.
Lemon is facing two battery charges - one of them a felony - in
connection with a fight that occurred at an Athens apartment
complex Saturday night. A Georgia student suffered a fractured
left eye socket as a result of punches he claims he took from
Lemon.
A sophomore, Lemon turned himself into police Thursday morning.
According to Georgia policy, any felony arrest results in an
immediate and indefinite suspension, pending an investigation.
Lemon is not the only Georgia player in trouble with the law.
Georgia also announced Thursday that guard Clint Boling, who was
arrested for DUI in the spring, would be suspended for the first
two games of the season.
Defensive end Jeremy Lomax was cited last month for carrying a
concealed weapon, but those charges were dropped Thursday.
"I'm certainly disappointed in a few of our players who have
made poor decisions during the offseason," Georgia head coach
Mark Richt said. "It is of great concern, and we take it very
seriously. They will be dealt with accordingly and pay a price.
Each one will be disciplined based on the severity of their
actions."
Lemon played in eight games last season, recording seven
tackles.
