ATHENS, Georgia (Ticker) -- The off-field problems continue for
Georgia, the preseason No. 1 team in the USA Today coaches'
poll.
Linebacker Darius Dewberry on Monday became the sixth Bulldogs
player to be suspended for the season opener against Georgia
Southern on August 30.
Dewberry, a junior, was handed a two-game suspension by Georgia
coach Mark Richt for damaging property at St. Mary's Hospital in
Athens on Sunday morning. He has admitted damaging a parking
lot control device and four trash cans.
Dewberry, who started five games for the Bulldogs last season,
will undergo counseling and also faces 20 hours of community
service.
Junior long snapper Jeff Henson was suspended indefinitely
Saturday morning after being arrested and charged with public
intoxication and urinating in public.
Junior safety Donavon Baldwin also was suspended indefinitely
after an incident at a bar, while fullback Fred Munzenmaier
received a two-game suspension for another alcohol-related
incident.
In addition, Richt suspended offensive lineman Clint Boling one
game for a reckless-driving charge.
Last month, defensive end Michael Lemon was kicked off the team
after he was charged with felony battery for allegedly punching
a student and breaking his eye socket.
