editor1  |Sep 04,2008

LEXINGTON, Kentucky (Ticker) -- The University of Kentucky
announced Thursday that left tackle Garry Williams will be out
for two to three weeks with torn cartilage in his knee.

A senior, Williams has started 26 consecutive games but
developed swelling in his knee earlier in the week.

Kentucky announced that the 6-3, 300-pound lineman underwent
surgery on his knee early Thursday morning after an MRI
confirmed a tear.

The Wildcats play Norfolk State on Saturday which will snap the
consecutive games streak for Williams, who has not missed a game
since his freshman season in 2005.
