Nebraska RB Lucky to return

editor1  |Jan 15,2008

LINCOLN, Nebraska (Ticker) -- Nebraska running back Marlon
Lucky will return for his senior season, the school announced on
Tuesday.

Lucky, who rushed 1,019 yards and nine touchdown this past
season, will be a featured player for new coach Bo Pelini in
2008.

"I am excited to return to Nebraska for my senior season and
play for Coach Pelini," Lucky said. "I know he is committed to
winning and returning this program to the elite of college
football, and I want to be here to help out with that."

Pelini, who spent the past three seasons as Louisiana State
defensive coordinator, was hired as head coach on December 2
after Nebraska athletic director Tom Osborne fired Bill
Callahan.

Lucky was also an excellent receiver out of the backfield last
year, catching 75 passes for 705 yards and three scores.

"Another year here will also allow me to continue to pursue my
college degree and enjoy the experience of playing football at
Nebraska," said Lucky, a sociology major. "I also know that
another year can only benefit me as a player and help me become
a more complete back to prepare for the next level."
