Ohio State, Oklahoma to resume series

editor1  |Jan 15,2008

COLUMBUS, Ohio (Ticker) -- Perennial powers Ohio State and
Oklahoma will play a pair of games against each other in 2016
and 2017, the schools announced Tuesday.

The home-and-home series begins with a game in Norman on
September 17, 2016, followed by a contest in Columbus on
September 16, 2017.

Both Ohio State and Oklahoma lost their bowl games this past
season. The Buckeyes lost to Louisiana State, 38-24, in the BCS
national championship game while the Sooners fell to West
Virginia, 48-28, in the Fiesta Bowl.

The teams have only played twice. Oklahoma posted a 29-28
victory in Norman in 1977 on Uwe von Schamann's 41-yard field
goal with two seconds remaining and Ohio State recorded a 24-14
victory in Columbus in 1983.
