Oklahoma DB Smith to turn pro

editor1  |Jan 16,2008

NORMAN, Oklahoma (Ticker) -- University of Oklahoma cornerback
Reggie Smith announced on Tuesday that he will forego his senior
season and enter the NFL draft.

A first-team All-Big 12 selection, Smith recorded 78 tackles and
three interceptions in 13 games this season.

Smith missed the 48-28 Fiesta Bowl loss to West Virginia on
January 2 because of a foot injury. A Jim Thorpe Award
semifinalist, Smith tallied 165 tackles and eight interceptions
in 36 career starts.

"Reggie was a good player for us and we wish him the best,"
Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops said.
