DETROIT (Ticker) -- University of Michigan wide receiver Mario
Manningham has announced he will forgo his senior season to
enter the NFL draft, according to a report in the Detroit Free
Press on Monday.
The 6-0 Manningham is a potential first-round pick after
catching 72 passes for 1,174 yards and 12 touchdowns this
season. He also rushed 19 times for 119 yards and a score.
For his career, the Ohio native caught 137 passes for 2,310
yards and 27 touchdowns over his three-year career at Michigan.
Manningham's departure, if true, would be the latest in a mass
exodus of offensive talent for the Wolverines since new coach
Rich Rodriguez took over the post from the retiring Lloyd Carr
in December.
Including the early draft entry of fellow receiver Adrian
Arrington, running back Mike Hart, quarterback Chad Henne and
offensive tackle Jake Long were all seniors this season.
Freshman quarterback Ryan Mallet has announced he will transfer
from the school as well.
