Texas Tech still expects to face Tulsa in 2008

editor1  |Jan 11,2008

LUBBOCK, Texas (Ticker) -- Despite reports to the contrary,
Texas Tech still expects to see Tulsa on its 2008 schedule.

Texas Tech on Friday responded to reports that the school's
contract with Tulsa has been cancelled, stating it fully
believes it will meet the Golden Hurricane next season.

"We are still under contract to play the game in Lubbock on
August 30," Red Raiders director of athletics Gerald Myers said.

The game is one of seven home contests scheduled for Texas Tech.

"For Tulsa to cancel this game with only eight months' notice
would be an act of bad faith on their part and, Tulsa University
being an institute of higher education, we fully expect them to
honor the contract," Myers said. "A cancellation at this late
date would make it almost impossible to schedule a quality
opponent at this time."
