Vanderbilt WR Bennett to enter NFL draft

editor1  |Jan 10,2008

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) -- Vanderbilt wide receiver Earl
Bennett announced on Thursday that he will forego his senior
season and enter the NFL draft.

The 6-1, 202-pound Bennett, who earned First Team
All-Southeastern Conference honors last month, caught 75 passes
for 830 yards and five touchdowns this past season. During his
collegiate career, he became the only receiver in SEC history to
reach the 75-reception plateau in three campaigns.

The 2007 Biletnikoff Trophy semifinalist, who finished the
regular season as the SEC's second-leading receiver, holds
several school receiving records, including most TDs (five) and
receiving yards (223) in a game.

The native of Birmingham, Alabama made 236 receptions for 2,852
yards and 20 scores during his three seasons.
