The Miami Dolphins defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 27-24 in double overtime in the divisional round. The reigning Super Bowl champion Baltimore Colts beat the Cleveland Browns 20-3 to advance to the AFC Championship.

The Dallas Cowboys beat the Minnesota Vikings 20-12, advancing to their second straight NFC Championship Game. The San Francisco 49ers defeated the Washington Redskins 24-20 to advance.

The Miami Dolphins shut out the Baltimore Colts 21-0 to win the AFC championship. For the second straight season, the Dallas Cowboys defeated the San Francisco 49ers 14-3 in the NFC Championship Game.

The Dallas Cowboys defeated the Miami Dolphins 24-3 in Super Bowl VI.
