1972 NFL Playoffs

The Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Oakland Raiders 13-7 on the Immaculate Reception by running back Franco Harris. In the other AFC divisional playoff, the Miami Dolphins defeated the Cleveland Browns 20-14.

The Dallas Cowboys beat the San Francisco 49ers 30-28 to advance to the NFC Championship Game. The Washington Redskins defeated the Green Bay Packers 16-3 in the other divisional playoff.

The Miami Dolphins beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 21-17 for the AFC title. The Washington Redskins walloped the division rival Dallas Cowboys 26-3 to capture the NFC crown.

The Miami Dolphins defeated the Washington Redskins 14-7 in Super Bowl VII. Miami finished the season undefeated, the only NFL team to ever do so.
