In the AFC divisional round, the Miami Dolphins beat the Seattle Seahawks 31-10 and the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Denver Broncos 24-17.

In the NFC divisional round, the San Francisco 49ers defeated the New York Giants 21-10 and the Chicago Bears beat the Washington Redskins 23-19.

The Miami Dolphins beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 45-28 in the AFC Championship Game. The San Francisco 49ers shut out the Chicago Bears 23-0 in the NFC Championship Game.

The San Francisco 49ers beat the Miami Dolphins 38-16 in Super Bowl XIX.
