1977 Pro Bowl

The AFC picked off six NFC passes, two of them by eventual game MVP Mel Blount, in downing the NFC 24-14 in the 1977 Pro Bowl at the Kingdome in Seattle.

Blount, who was coached by his Pittsburgh coach Chuck Noll, starred after seriously considering pulling himself from the game after he was hurt on the first day of practice. Cincinnati's Ken Anderson also starred for the victors, tossing scoring passes of 12 and 27 yards to San Diego's Charlie Joiner and Oakland's Cliff Branch respectively.

Five of the AFC's six picks came at the expense of St. Louis quarterback Jim Hart.
