Atlanta quarterback Chris Miller and San Francisco Hall of Fame receiver Jerry Rice connected on an eleven yard slant pattern with just over four minutes remaining to secure a 21-15 victory for the NFC in the 1993 Pro Bowl. All game long Rice and Dallas wideout Michael Irvin combined to give the NFC a lethal combination. Irvin, who was named game MVP, finished with eight receptions for 125 yards and a score. The NFC's winning score covered 85 yards and was aided by a Derrick Thomas personal foul penalty that gave the victors a first down on third and ten. Washington teammates Mark Rypien and Gary Clark also connected on a 35-yard pass scoring play.
