Super Bowl II Green Bay Packers vs. Oakland Raiders Date: January 14, 1968 Host City: Miami, FL Stadium: Miami Orange Bowl National Anthem: Grambling State University Band Halftime Entertainment: Grambling State University Band MVP: Bart Starr – Quarterback, Green Bay Packers Final Score: Green Bay-33 Oakland-14 Vince Lombardi and the Green Bay Packers would once again prove their dominance over the NFL, and over their AFL opponent in the second annual AFL-NFL World Championship Game. The game was again popularly referred to as the “Super Bowl,” yet such a name was still only serving to be a “place holder.” Like the previous year, this championship game offered very little resembling a contest. Green Bay jumped to a 16-7 halftime lead, leaving a few signs of life for the Oakland Raider squad; however, the Packers would add 10 quick points in the 3rd quarter, making the the AFL's chances of gaining respect from the rival NFL an impossibility vs. the potent Green Bay defense. Bart Starr would manage the game well, winning his second MVP award in as many years. Check out the summaries for Super Bowl I and Super Bowl III.
