Super Bowl VI was highlighted by yet another dominant performance by a team from the former NFL. From the opening kickoff, Dallas controlled the line of scrimmage from both sides of the ball, allowing only a field goal in the second quarter to the Miami Dolphins . Former Heisman Trophy winner, Roger Staubach, threw for 119 yards and two touchdowns en route to securing a victory for the Cowboys and an MVP award for himself. It would mark the beginning of the Roger Staubach era in Dallas, as the season had included a 4-3 start before he took over the permanent starting duties at QB.
