Super Bowl XII would mark the first Super Bowl to take place in the Louisiana Superdome, and after a string of losses, the NFC would find their way back into the winners circle. The game was never much of a contest as Dallas catapulted to a 10 point lead in the first quarter and never looked back. The Dallas defense dominated the Denver offense, only allowing 10 3rd quarter points, and earning shared MVP honors for their defensive linemen, Harvey Martin and Randy White. To this date, no two players have ever again shared an MVP award. Over the course of the game, the Dallas defense forced 8 turnovers, giving the ball to their capable offense led by Roger Staubach. (One side story brewing in the week leading up to the game was the comparison between Dallas QB, Roger Staubach and Broncos QB, Craig Morton – who was once part of the QB controversy in Dallas before Staubach eventually won the starting job.)
