Super Bowl XXV

NY Giants vs. Buffalo Bills

Date: January 27, 1991
Host City: Tampa, FL
Stadium: Tampa Stadium
National Anthem: Whitney Houston
Halftime Entertainment: New Kids on the Block
MVP: Ottis Anderson – Running Back, NY Giants
Final Score: New York-20 Buffalo-19

Wide right. The infamous call, according to Buffalo Bills fans, and the sweet sound of perfection to Giants fans. It was one of the greatest Super Bowl battles to date, and was only decided by the kick that sailed just right of the upright after leaving the right foot of Buffalo's Scott Norwood. Although the game is best remembered for the way it ended, it was the NY Giants offense that commanded the game, dictating the pace and keeping the ball out of the hands of Jim Kelly and the hurry up offense of of Buffalo. Ottis Anderson rushed 21 times for a total of 102 yards, helping to sustain drives and keep the clock rolling. He was appropriately awarded MVP honors for his game changing performance, as the Giants went on to win their second Super Bowl title.
