Super Bowl XXXII Denver Broncos vs. Green Bay Packers Date: January 25, 1998 Host City: San Diego, CA Stadium: Qualcomm Stadium National Anthem: Jewel Halftime Entertainment: Boyz II Men, Smokey Robinson, The Temptations, The Four Tops MVP: Terrell Davis – Running Back, Denver Broncos Final Score: Denver-31 Green Bay-24 Green Bay would enter Super Bowl XXXII as an 11.5 point favorite, and poised to repeat as Super Bowl Champs, yet the evening would belong to Denver QB John Elway, and his young supporting cast, including running back Terrell Davis. The game was tight throughout, and early in the 4th quarter, the Packers tied the game at 24, leaving Denver with the opportunity to ice their own cake. With just over a minute left in regulation, the Broncos had the ball inside the 5 yard line, and Green Bay's coach, Mike Holmgren, told the defense to allow Denver the opportunity to score so that the Packer's offense would have more time on the clock in an attempt to tie the game. His decision proved to be the ultimate demise of his team, as he didn't realize it was already 2nd down when he gave his team the orders – the Packers defense having held solid on 1st down. Terrell Davis, who rushed for 157 yards and 3 TDs was awarded MVP honors. Check out the summaries for Super Bowl XXXI and Super Bowl XXXIII.
