Super Bowl XXXIII

Denver Broncos vs. Atlanta Falcons

Date: January 31, 1999
Host City: Miami, FL
Stadium: Pro Player Stadium
National Anthem: Cher
Halftime Entertainment: Gloria Estefan, Stevie Wonder, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy
MVP: John Elway – Quarterback, Denver Broncos
Final Score: Denver-34 Atlanta-19

It would mark the last time John Elway would set foot on a competitive playing field in the NFL. The Broncos came into the game as the favorite, and John Elway let it all hang out like never before. The Chris Chandler and Jamal Anderson led “Dirtybirds” of Atlanta simply couldn't match the Broncos level of play at any point of the game, and they were only able to really get the offense going in the 4th quarter, at which point they were down 17-6. Their offensive scores were only countered with a heavier attack from the Broncos, and the ultimate encore performance of John Elway. Elway's 336 yards passing with 1 passing TD and 1 rushing TD would earn him MVP honors, and the perfect exit music to a brilliant career.
