It was no different for the New England Patriots in 2005, when they would face an incredibly “apt to task” Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles, led by injured Wide Receiver Terrell Owens, would hang with the Patriots throughout all 4 quarters. The Patriots defense did what they could to disrupt the Eagles on-field chemistry between QB Donovan McNabb and WR Terrell Owens, yet even with McNabb ill and Owens playing with metal screws and plates in a broken ankle, the Eagles refused to die. Ultimately, the Eagles made a valiant 4th quarter effort, only to mismanage their time during crucial situations. Out of desperation, and down by 3, they attempted to drive the length of the field, yet could make no progress – the drive ultimately ended with a Patriots interception, giving them their 3rd Super Bowl victory in 4 years.
