DENVER (Ticker) - The Denver Broncos and running back Michael
Pittman agreed on a one-year contract Tuesday, according to the
Denver Post.
Financial terms were not disclosed, and the deal is contingent
on Pittman passing a physical, the Post reported.
Pittman, who will be entering his 11th NFL season, has served
primarily as a backup and third-down receiving option for most
of his career.
Last season, Pittman rushed for just 286 yards on 68 carries and
failed to score a touchdown for the first time since his rookie
season.
Pittman's finest moment in his six-year career with the Tampa
Bay Buccaneers came in 2002, when he rushed for 124 yards on 29
carries in a 48-21 victory over the Oakland Raiders in the Super
Bowl.
In six seasons with the Bucs, Pittman, 32, has rushed for 3,364
rushing yards and hauled in 284 receptions.
Prior to joining Tampa Bay in 2002, Pittman played four seasons
for the Arizona Cardinals.
A third-round pick of Arizona in 1998, he rushed for 719 and 846
yards, respectively, in his final two seasons with the club.
