editor1  |May 14,2008
BEREA, Ohio (Ticker) -- Cleveland Browns defensive back Kenny
Wright, who was arrested last month, had his contract terminated
by the club Wednesday.

On April 3, Wright led police on a quarter-mile foot chase that
began in the parking lot of the police station. He was arrested
on misdemeanor charges of unlawful restraint, evading and arrest
and possession of marijuana.

Wright, who collected three tackles in seven games last season,
had two years remaining on his contract that he signed with the
Browns in March 2007.

A nine-year veteran who has played for five teams, the
30-year-old Wright has registered 364 tackles, three sacks and
seven interceptions in 133 career games.
