Falcons LB Boley arrested

editor1  |May 05,2008

ATLANTA (Ticker) -- Michael Boley became the latest Atlanta
Falcons player to run afoul of the law.

The linebacker was arrested and charged with battery Saturday
after his wife told police he became physical with her.

Boley, 25, was released on a $1,200 bond for the family violence
battery charge, which is a misdemeanor.

Boley's wife, Chantelle, claimed that she and Boley argued and
that the argument escalated, according to a Gwinnett County
Police report. The officers determined that Boley was the
primary aggressor in the fight.

The 2005 fifth-round draft pick had been tabbed as one of the
building blocks for the tarnished Falcons franchise that is
still reeling from the imprisonment of star quarterback Michael
Vick on dogfighting charges.

Boley was among Atlanta's top defenders last season with 110
tackles, four forced fumbles and two interceptions.
