CINCINNATI (Ticker) -- A judge on Tuesday ruled that former
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry can travel for
tryouts with other NFL teams.
At a pretrial hearing, Hamilton County Municipal Court Judge
Richard Bernat ruled Henry to be released from electronic
monitoring and house arrest.
The Cincinnati Enquirer reported on its web site that Henry must
have a letter from NFL teams before he is allowed to travel for
tryouts.
Henry was released by the Bengals last month after he was
arrested and charged with assault and criminal damaging in a
March 31 incident in which he allegedly punched a University of
Cincinnati student in the head and damaged his car.
Off-the-field trouble has been a constant for Henry, who has
twice been suspended by the NFL. He was banned for eight games
last season by the league.
Even if a team offers Henry a tryout, he likely is facing
another suspension from NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.
